Lego has built an entire entertainment arm. Patagonia and Red Bull produce films and series like publishing houses. Family-centred brands are recognising it: their own stories bind audiences more strongly than any campaign. Reach here is not built by ad pressure, but by stories the audience seeks out.

Branded entertainment is the discipline for brands that know reach is built through substance and through their own channels, not through ad pressure.

A brand that enables an entertainment format acts like a publisher. It appears as host and signatory, never as seller. The story has to hold on its own. Values are carried through the narrative, not through logo overlays or product placement.

Reach comes from two sources: from the brand's own channels, and from the force of a story that the audience carries forward voluntarily. Family-centred brands especially find a format that lasts here. Children, teenagers, families do not accept advertising inside stories. But they bond with brands that enable stories which stand on their own.

Storytelling sits in the DNA of Little Lights.

Before Little Lights existed as a studio, there were four years of directing in children's television. No format sets stricter standards on storytelling: young viewers will not sit through a story that does not hold. The studio comes from that school, with the same discipline that today carries our branded-entertainment work.

We work in parallel on projects for brands and on our own entertainment work. Short films, long-form, documentaries are made in the studio. We publish the Helena Flinn Chronicles, a book series for middle-grade readers. The same hands that revise a book scene or sketch a short-film plot also write the treatment for a brand's animation series. The discipline is one.

That experience with stories for young and mixed audiences makes us a natural partner for brands whose audiences are families.
