Built with care.
Little Lights Studio Publishing
How we started publishing.
We have been making films for over twelve years. We have been publishing since Helena Flinn appeared in 2024.
In 2018 a short story took shape in the studio: about goblins who build dreams under Vienna. Five years later that story became a book. Today it is a middle-grade fantasy trilogy. Two volumes published, the third due by the end of the year.
We publish the books ourselves. Little Lights Studio appears as official publisher in every copy, distributed via Amazon KDP and IngramSpark, in hardcover, paperback, and ebook. What interests us in this work is not volume, it is care.
We currently publish one work: the Helena Flinn Chronicles. If our publishing arm grows, it grows slowly and with care. Books have to fit us, and we have to fit the books.
What readers say.
"A wholly original work of middle grade fantasy fiction. The metaphorical conflicts of sleep and the timeless search for connection weave neatly in Sokolar's liminal prose, blurring the edges of reality with evocative language, clever world-building, and a captivating plot that readers of all ages will find enchanting."
The Independent Review of Books
"Middle grade fantasy unlike any other I have read. It examines the complexities of a very real set of health problems, sleep disorders, in a context of magical realism perfect for late elementary and middle school readers."
Hannah Lindley
"What better place to set a middle grade fantasy about a hidden dream world than Vienna, home of Sigmund Freud? Helena Flinn weaves the real-life science of dreams into a magical story of goblin engineers and human heroes."
Matthew Olson-Roy
"A rare book that feels like a true adventure, yet still carries a deep sense of wonder and warmth. As a homeschooling mom, my children, ages 11, 8, 7, 5, and 4, were all equally drawn in."
Jordie Slesarenko
"An enchanting adventure about dreams, friendship, and belonging. The kind of book that makes you fall in love with reading all over again."
Mike Kren
"The Helena Flinn Chronicles continue with magic, mystery, teamwork, and the power of dreams. The ending is jaw-dropping and will leave you with lots of questions and keen for the next in the Chronicles."
